 d is a copy of the Agenda for the Special Board of Education Meeting to be
  held on Monday\, August 9\, 2021\, at 9:00 a.m. The Governor’s Disaster P
 roclamation\, which declared\, in part\, that in-person attendance of more
  than 10 people was not feasible in light of public health concerns\, has 
 expired. Accordingly\, the Board President and the Interim Chief Executive
  Officer have determined that registered speakers who wish to present duri
 ng Public Participation may have the option to participate in person at th
 e location of the Board meeting or virtually via an electronic platform. T
 he public will have access to the meeting via live stream at cpsboe.org.\n
 Interim Guidelines have been issued by the President of the Board of Educa
 tion of the City of Chicago in accordance with Board Rule 2-4.1. These Int
 erim Guidelines are effective July 26\, 2021. During the period they are i
 n effect\, these Interim Guidelines supersede the Public Participation Gui
 delines issued August 28\, 2013 (rev. September 13\, 2018). These Interim 
 Guidelines are available on www.cpsboe.org and attached to this notice.\nF
 or the August 9\, 2021 Special Board Meeting\, advance registration to spe
 ak will be available beginning Wednesday\, August 4th at 10:30 a.m. and wi
 ll close on Thursday\, August 5th at 5:00 p.m.\, or until all slots are fi
 lled. Advance registration during this period is available by the followin
 g methods:\n\nOnline: www.cpsboe.org (recommended)\nPhone: (312) 989-7313\
 n\n\nRegister to Speak Here (speaker registration opens at 10:30 am)\n\nTo
  ensure equity of access to address the Board\, an individual may not spea
 k at two (2) consecutive Board Meetings. In the event an individual regist
 ers to speak at a consecutive Board Meeting\, the individual will not be c
 alled to address the Board.\nThe Public Participation segment of the meeti
 ng will begin following the Roll Call and proceed for no more than 5 regis
 tered speakers for ten minutes. Registered speakers will receive instructi
 ons for Public Participation.\nMembers of the public may submit written co
 mments for Board of Education meetings via the Written Comments Form on th
 e Board’s website at www.cpsboe.org or mailed to 1 N Dearborn\, Suite 950.
  Written comments received between the day the public agenda is posted thr
 ough 5 p.m. the day after the Board of Education meeting will be submitted
  to the Board and posted within five (5) business days on our website at w
 ww.cpsboe.org.
