DESCRIPTION:Prior to the regular Chicago Board of Education meeting\, a Pub
 lic Hearing will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday\, April 27th at 42 W. M
 adison Street\, Garden Level\, Board Room\, Chicago\, IL 60602.  CPS seeks
  a five year waiver to modify 105 ILCS 5/18-8.05(F)(2)(i) to allow the dat
 e of the ACT exam or other similar national college entrance exam to count
  as a day of student attendance for general state aid purposes. The distri
 ct has “banked” enough instructional minutes throughout the year so that t
 he day of the test administration may be counted as a day of student atten
 dance.\nTestimony from educators\, parents and members of the public about
  the proposal will be taken during the Public Hearing.\nSpeaker registrati
 on for the Public Hearing will be held from 8:30 a.m. - 9:00 a.m. on the 1
 st Floor of the Madison Street Lobby.  The Public Participation segment of
  the Public Hearing will conclude after the last person who has signed in 
 to speak has spoken\, or at 9:45 a.m. whichever occurs first.
