DESCRIPTION:THE BOARD OF EDUCATION OF THE CITY OF CHICAGO NOTICE OF PUBLIC 
 HEARING ON WAIVER APPLICATION\nPrior to the regular Chicago Board of Educa
 tion meeting\, a Public Hearing will be held at 9:00 a.m. - 9:30 a.m. on W
 ednesday\, June 23\, 2021 for a waiver application to allow CPS more flexi
 bility in planning the school calendar by scheduling full day school impro
 vement days.\nCPS seeks to renew its waiver application for Section 10-19.
 05 of the Illinois School Code to allow for school calendar planning flexi
 bility for full school improvement days.\nTo protect the public’s health i
 n response to the COVID-19 pandemic\, and as permitted by Governor Pritzke
 r’s Disaster Proclamation\, which is currently in effect\, the public will
  have access to the hearing via live stream at cpsboe.org\, and the public
  participation will be held via an electronic platform.\nFor this Public H
 earing\, advance registration to speak will be available beginning Wednesd
 ay\, June 16\, 2021 at 10:30 am and will close on Thursday\, June 17\, 202
 1 at 5:00 pm\, or until all ten (10) slots have been filled\, or whichever
  comes first. Advance registration during this period is available by the

 clude after the last person who has registered to speak has spoken\, or at
  9:30 a.m. whichever occurs first. Staff members are encouraged to partici
