 EETING\nEnclosed is a copy of the Agenda for the Special Board Meeting of 
 the Board of Education to be held on Friday\, January 15\, 2021\, at 1:30 
 p.m. The COVID-19 Pandemic has created a public health emergency in the Ci
 ty of Chicago and the State of Illinois. The Governor of the State of Illi
 nois issued a Disaster Proclamation\, which is currently in effect and whi
 ch declares\, in part\, that in-person attendance of more than 10 people i
 s not feasible in light of public health concerns. Accordingly\, the Board
  President and the Chief Executive Officer have determined that Public Par
 ticipation will be held virtually via an electronic platform and the publi
 c will have access to the meeting via live stream at cpsboe.org.\nEmergenc
 y Guidelines have been issued by the President of the Board of Education o
 f the City of Chicago in accordance with Board Rule 2-4.1. These Emergency
  Guidelines are effective March 20\, 2020\, and shall remain in effect dur
 ing the period in which the Illinois Governor’s Disaster Proclamation rema
 ins in effect. During the period they are in effect\, these Emergency Guid
 elines supersede the Public Participation Guidelines issued August 28\, 20
 13 (rev. September 13\, 2018). These Emergency Guidelines are available on
  www.cpsboe.org and attached to this notice.\nFor the January 15\, 2021 Sp
 ecial Board Meeting\, advance registration to speak will be available begi
 nning Wednesday\, January 13th at 1:30 p.m. and will close on Thursday\, J
 anuary 14th at 5:00 p.m.\, or until all slots filled. Advance registration
  during this period is available by the following methods:\n\nOnline: www.
 cpsboe.org (recommended)\nPhone: (312) 989-7313\n\nTo ensure equity of acc
 ess to address the Board\, an individual may not speak at two (2) consecut
 ive Board Meetings. In the event an individual registers to speak at a con
 secutive Board Meeting\, the individual will not be called to address the 
 Board.\nThe Public Participation segment of the meeting will begin followi
 ng the Roll Call and proceed for no more than 5 registered speakers for te
 n minutes. Registered speakers will receive instructions for accessing the
  electronic platform for Public Participation.\nMembers of the public may 
 submit written comments for Board of Education meetings via the Written Co
 mments Form on the Board’s website at www.cpsboe.org or mailed to 1 N Dear
 born\, Suite 950. Written comments received between the day the public age
 nda is posted through 5 p.m. the day after the Board of Education meeting 
 will be submitted to the Board and posted within five (5) business days on
  our website at www.cpsboe.org.
